Once the queen of the pasture, always the queen of the pasture!
DCC Promise Keeper's Daisy 133A2 was Megan's high school show heifer and one of our first cattle purchases. She went on to produce a list of registered calves that serve as the backbone of our Red Brangus program. 133A2 calves are heavy boned, big backed, and extremely fertile.
Once Daisy's reproductive days were over, she coached multiple crops of weaned heifers on the ins and outs of life at Greenwood Cattle Co. No matter where a heifer came from, once she was under Daisy's management she became a model citizen (standing quietly in the race, coming in the pens for fly spray, etc.)!
We will miss seeing the big red girl out in the pasture, but are fortunate to have her daughters, granddaughters, and great granddaughers roaming our place. ... See MoreSee Less

My old show heifer turned 18 back in March. She's retired from calving (after 15 natural calves) because the other ladies started picking on her. So now she's a Judas cow, teaching heifers what's up and maybe chill out. The pastures won't be the same when she's not in them and I can only imagine your pain. RIP Miss Daisy!
Daisy was definitely the queen of the pasture! She will be missed!

Spend any amount of time looking at a set of registration papers (cattle, horses, etc.) and it doesn't take one long to realize that the "secret" to success lies in the bottom side of a pedigree. We believe that predictability and fertility come from generations of stacking elite dams!

Beautiful ❣️
Unconscionable to deliberately harm and kill animals just to get some feelings in your mouth. Meat is unnecessary, unhealthy, bad for the environment, and cruel to animals. Don't be the reason another animal suffers: Go Vegan. No need for meat: [Academy Releases New Position Paper on Vegetarian and Vegan Diets] It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that, in adults, appropriately planned vegetarian and vegan dietary patterns can be nutritionally adequate and can offer long-term health benefits such as improving several health outcomes associated with cardiometabolic diseases. Vegetarian dietary patterns exclude meat, poultry and seafood, and vegan dietary patterns exclude all foods of animal origin.
